S'Argon

Classification: Younger God

Religion: Argonic

Dogma: There is great debate over whether the Sartans worship Dalyan under a different Name or if S'Argon is an entirely separate and distinct deity. The dogma of Argonic faith is nearly identical to Daylic; however there are some distinct differences. The Argons believe in regular acknowledgment of their patron deity through frequent ritualistic prayer—there is no set number of times a person must pray per day; they believe it must be at the least once but most pray several times a day. Argons do not believe S'Argon requires them to acknowledge Him regularly, they just do so on their own, believing frequent prayer shows their respect and love for Him. It is little more than a habitual personal preference to pray frequently throughout the day. Those who choose not to practice frequent prayer are generally not shunned, yet there are a few small pious communities who might ostracize someone who goes against the norm. The Argons do not have temples or churches, believing every home and establishment is graced by S'Argon and act as temples in themselves. Therefore, many Argons hold religious ceremonies in public places or within their own homes, inviting everyone in close proximity to attend. (This is almost identical to how the Enojans worship, a practice they borrowed from their Sartan neighbors.) The Sartan Argons do, on the other hand, have a single, central mosque—the pinnacle of their faith. They also have a single religious military force called the Paragons. The Paragons are considered by many nations the most powerful, highly-trained military force in the World. Their numbers are few and they are mostly cavalrymen, never reaching numbers higher than 800. Legend states that 600 Paragons defeated an invading Enojan Army of 2,000 soldiers during the time of the Enojan Empire, and that brutal victory kept the Enojans out of Sari'ana forever.
